Waltham – Mrs. Susan Marie (Boemer) Sullivan, of Waltham, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 55.

Susan was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 10, 1957 and had lived in Newton and in Waltham for most of her life. She was a graduate of Newton North High School and Lasell College in Newton. She later earned her degree in special education from Lesley College in Cambridge.

Susan was a devoted and loving teacher of elementary, early childhood and Christian education. Most recently she had been a teacher at Christ Lutheran Church in Belmont where she helped to establish the infant/toddler program.

She leaves her husband, Michael K. Sullivan; her children, Brendan M. Sullivan of Newton, Meghan K. Jones and her husband, Nick, of Marlboro, Darcy M. Sullivan of Natick and Bridget M. Sullivan of Waltham; her parents, Allen J. and Lois E. (Hoffmann) Boemer of Hudson; her sisters and brother, Cheryl J. Boemer of West Roxbury, Lisa E. Byrne and her husband, Jim, of Newton and Eric A. Boemer and his wife, Sally, of Reading and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Susan's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 27th, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning in First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6 Eddy Street, corner of Weston Street, Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
