Weston – Joan (Pazienski) Davin, D.D.S., of Weston died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in her home. She was 55.
Joan was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 23, 1956 a daughter of the late Alfred and Irene (Valaitis) Pazienski. She was raised in Queens, New York, where she graduated from Martin Van Buren High School. She was also a graduate of Adelphi University in Garden City, New York before enrolling at Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, D.C.
She served her residency at the Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in New York City. On June 26, 1982 Joan married Paul D. Davin, a Weston native, who she met at Georgetown and the couple lived in Westwood for a time before settling in Weston twenty years ago. Together they opened their dental practice in Belmont.
Joan was a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society and had been a longtime and active parishioner at Saint Julia's Church in Weston.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her son, Michael P. Davin of Weston; her sisters and brother, Louise Wehmeyer of Franklin Square, New York, Ronald Pazienski of New Hyde Park, New York and Karen Murphy of Wading River, New York; her nieces and nephews, Eric, Robert and Victoria Wehmeyer, Christopher Leech, Kristen Murphy and Allison Pazienski and her father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Davin of Weston.
Family and friends will honor and remember Joan's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 13th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to the Holy Spirit Chapel at Campion Center, 319 Concord Road, Weston where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Weston.
Joan requested that her memory and her faith be honored by asking those she loved and who loved her back to recite a decade of the Rosary and to perform a random act of kindness . . . and for those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Association of Marian Helpers, Eden Hill, Stockbridge, MA 01263.
