Donna E. Murphy – Pistacchio, of Eastham, formerly of West Newton and Asharoken, New York, died Thursday, December 29, 2011. She was 52.
Donna was born on April 30, 1959 in Newton a daughter of Francis H. and the late Geraldine V. (Cetrone) Murphy. After marriage to David Pistacchio they lived on Long Island, New York in the towns of Northport and Asharoken before moving back to Massachusetts over a year ago. She was a graduate of Newton North High School and Massachusetts Bay Community College.
She loved animals, especially her dog, "Maxine" and cats, "Salty & Jack" and would often volunteer at various animal shelters.
She leaves her father, Francis H. Murphy Sr. of West Newton; her former husband, David Pistacchio of Asharoken, New York; her siblings, Francis H. "Frank" Murphy Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Orlando, Florida, Stephen R. Murphy of Eastham and Suzanne Crowley and her husband, James of Tewksbury; a close family friend, Salley Anne (Wilkins) Ouellette of Waltham; six nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Donna's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, January 6th from 4 – 8PM and again at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington Street, West Newton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
