Mr. Douglass Gordon Arnold, of Templeton, died March 5, 2012 in Athol Memorial Hospital. He was 65.

Doug was born on August 28, 1946 in Cambridge a son of the late Russell and Doris (Hotchkiss) Arnold and lived many years in Waltham before moving to Templeton. He was a resident of the Templeton Developmental Center and worked for many years at the Valley Barn where he took great pride in caring for the cows. His other great joys included time with his family, traveling, and dining out with his friends from T.D.C.

He leaves his sisters, Sally J. Dyer and her husband, Bret, Nancy J. Lucchetti and her partner, Ron McAvoy, all of Leominster and Betsy J. Hygonenq and her husband, Jacques, of Pibrac, France; 3 nieces and 2 nephews; 3 great-nieces and 1 great-nephew; and his family and at The Templeton Developmental Center.

Family and friends will honor and remember Doug's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Sunday, March 18th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and again on Monday morning where his Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery, Waltham.

Memorial donations may be made to the COFAR (Coalition for Families & Advocates), 3 Hodge Street, Mansfield, MA 02048.
